During the meeting, project partners as well as funding agencies, have confirmed a strong interest and support for a 3rd Call. Discussions followed on different thematics, timeframe, provisions, and procedural considerations for the Call.
The First and Second ERANETMED Joint Calls have succeeded in having a strong sense of co-ownership, shared interest, and mutual benefit, for addressing common challenges, harvesting common opportunities, and enhancing bi-regional collaborations. Building the 3rd Call, it would be essential to take into consideration both the favorable outcomes and the lessons learned from previous calls. Thematic considerations for the third call will develop on strengthening international cooperation on research and innovation in the Mediterranean and enhancing Euro-Mediterranean research networks tackling the challenge of water in rural and remote areas in coastal zones and inlands.
The Pre-announcement of the Call is anticipated for the month of April, 2017.
