Documentation Centre - background
The Documentation Centre was established in 1973 following the directives
of the first 5 year plan of the CNRS in order to support scientific research
in Lebanon. The centre provides various services to CNRS staff and all sub-contracted
scientists
A major role of the centre is to collect, process and disseminate scientific
information at national and international levels using appropriate information
and communication technology. The centre undertakes information surveys,
prepares national data bases in conjunction with UN information systems,
providing relevant information services to end users.
